Machines

In the Settings app, it is possible to connect a machine with a router. Unlike dashboards, where an instance is created directly, it is necessary to create a machine template first when working with machines.

This machine template contains important information about the data points and messages that are to be captured and output.

The creation of multiple similar machines (series machines) is simplified by using machine templates.

Machine Creation

The prerequisite for creating a machine is creating a machine template. Both processes occur in the Settings app.

Parent Elements

The machine is a parent element of:

  • Machine Templates simplify the creation of multiple similar machines (series machines).
  • Router: Every machine is connected to the cloud platform via a router.
  • Location: Every machine is assigned to a location.

Child Elements

The machine has child elements of:

  • Dashboard Templates: Dashboard templates are linked to a machine template.
  • Data Points, Messages, Metadata: These elements are linked to a machine during creation and editing of machine templates.

Visibility

The machine is visible in:

  • Portal App: Here, dashboards, messages, and reports for the machine can be accessed. Reports can be generated and downloaded.

  • Settings App: Here, machines can be created and edited.
